How a link insertion works

Instead of publishing a new article, the publisher edits one of their existing posts to include a link to your site. Because that post is already indexed — and often already has its own traffic and backlinks — your link can start passing value sooner than a brand-new guest post.

When to use link insertions

For new topics or when you want a full article about your brand, a guest post is the better choice. Many campaigns use both.

How to choose the right page for your link

Pick a page that is about the same topic as the page you are linking to, is indexed in Google, and gets some organic traffic. Use an anchor text that reads naturally in the sentence — a mix of brand, URL and descriptive anchors looks more natural than repeating one exact keyword.

FAQ

Link insertions — questions answered

A link insertion — also called a niche edit or curated link — adds your link to an article that is already published on the publisher's site, instead of writing a new article.
The article already exists, is already indexed and may already have traffic and backlinks of its own, so a link insertion is usually faster and cheaper than a new guest post.
You send the URL of the existing article on that site where you want your link, along with your target URL and anchor text. The publisher adds the link to that page.
No article is needed. The link is added to existing content, so the order only needs the page URL, your target URL and your anchor text.
The link is placed in an existing, relevant article. For the best result, choose a page whose topic matches the page you are linking to and use a natural anchor text.
Link insertions are covered by the same 365-day guarantee: if the link is removed within a year, we restore it or replace it within 30 days of your report — or refund you.
